Two surfers racing to paddle for the same wave. Usually friendly, occasionally not.

Honestly, 'cakj' looks like what happens when you try texting with wet, salty thumbs after a long session! I'm playfully guessing you meant a deep 'carve', or maybe it's just the sound of a board slapping the water. 🐢
- Snap
A sharp, quick turn off the top of the wave. Flashier and more aggressive than a cutback.
- Rocker
The curve of the board from nose to tail. More rocker turns tighter but paddles slower; flatter is faster and floatier.
- Gun
A long, narrow board built for big, fast waves. If you need to ask what it's for, you don't need one yet.
- Shaka
The classic surf hand sign, thumb and pinky out, other fingers curled. Means hi, thanks, all good, and nice wave, all at once. Use sparingly.
