How do I paddle out without getting yelled at?
Paddle wide around the lineup, never through it. When a wave comes, get behind it, not in front.
Never paddle straight through where people are riding. Go around the lineup, either through the channel where waves are not breaking, or wide around the edge. If you are stuck in the impact zone, aim to be behind the whitewater when a set arrives so nobody hits you. If someone is riding a wave toward you, paddle toward the whitewater, not toward the open shoulder.
