Whitewater rollers on a foamie, and it's perfect.

Frequently asked
How long does the Student stage last?
Longer than anyone tells you. Most surfers stay in a version of the Student mindset forever — that's the good news.
What board should a beginner ride?
A soft-top around 7 to 8 feet for most adults, or a longboard once your paddle strength is up. Never buy a shortboard first, no matter what the internet tells you.
